Last Wednesday night, Canpro King-Reed LP attended the Business In Vancouver Awards Presentation at The Fairmont Waterfront, Vancouver. We were recognized as one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in BC. The award is based on sales growth over a 5 year period. With 153% growth, a fantastic feat, we came in 67th on the list. Mining and Oil & Gas companies ruled the top section of the list with the winner have 17,000,000% growth.

A very nice evening shared with members of the BC business community.

Matt Henschel accepted the award on behalf of our company, Shirley Burns had her photo taken thereafter with the award also and a photo was taken on behalf of BIV 3 representatives: Rick from Audi [Main Sponsor], Janice from Business in Vancouver [Host] and Corinne Shandley of CKR [Representing a winning Co.].

Congratulations to everyone at Canpro King-Reed LP for this award. Hard work has and continues to show reputable results! We look forward to making the list again next year with an even higher growth %.

Olympic fever hit the Elk Valley again this month when a set of non-awarded medals visited the schools.

For over eight months, Teck has been touring all over Canada showing the 2010 Winter Olympic medals. They have gone to schools, nursing homes, and hospitals, and last week, they were at Frank J. Mitchell Elementary, Sparwood Secondary, Elkford Secondary, Rocky Mountain Elementary, The Fernie Academy, Fernie Secondary and Isabella Dicken Elementary schools.

There are only three sets of non-awarded Olympic medals from the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. One set is in the Olympic museum in Zurich, one is at the Royal Canadian Mint museum in Ottawa and the third set has been on tour.

The medals were not awarded because they were created specifically for Teck. Teck supplied all the metal for the medals.
